Christmas in my house is normally a fairly laid back affair, well, for everyone apart from my Nan anyway. She cooks while the rest of us drink Prosecco and pick which political topic will start the Family Row, which can be spectacular, as there are usually eleven or so people around the table.
This year will be a bit different, as in the name of insanity, I’m moving in with my boyfriend on Christmas Eve. It seemed like a perfectly good idea when we planned it, hazy on red wine with a decent few months to go. I also volunteered to make dessert and nibbles for the family, which will include: chocolate and pistachio biscuits, spiced orange muffins with brandy cream filling, gingerbread men and melting chocolate pudding. My last shift at work end at 6pm on Christmas Eve. It’s going to be tight, folks.
I love the timelessness of Christmas Day. The rest of the world ceases to exist, and won’t re-emerge until around the 2nd of January. I find the joy of giving presents greater than the joy of getting them – if I could afford to buy presents for people every day, I would.
This year I’m especially conscious of all the help I’ve received from people – this Christmas is going to be super special because, you see, I’m lucky to be alive. A bad accident left me with a serious head injury, and the special people in my life have stuck by me through a difficult recovery – memory loss, post-accident depression and unemployment. That’s why this year, the presents all have a special meaning, and why I will go the extra mile to thank them all, not just for Christmas, but for being brilliant. There isn’t really any better way to do this than with a personalised Christmas card from Instant Print.
Online Print Company
Instant Print are an online print company that provide custom made cards and flyers. I’m going to make personalised cards for everyone who will make this Christmas special as you can upload photos or artwork on the website so that each card will have a special meaning for the recipient. The cards are printed using quality materials, which makes them more like another present rather than just another Christmas card to be read and thrown away.
So that’s what I’m looking forward to this year – giving something back to all the wonderful people who mean the most to me.
