The Great Monument of Nelson Mandela

The precious moment on South African’s soil was the birth of a legend named Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela on 18th July, 1918 at Transkei. His family belonged to the Tembu Tribe. He got his early education in the local school then graduated from Fort Hare College. He finally received Law degree from the University of Witwatersrand. Afterwards he joined the African national congress (ANC) in 1948, as an activist against the racism of black and white policies of ruling national party “Apartheid”. In 1960, the ANC was banned by the ruling party. The ANC setup a military wing called “Umkhonto We Sizwe” to strengthened the activist campaign against the racism. Then in 1962, Nelson Mandela was arrested and put into prison with other activist. After that in 1964 he was sentenced life prison on many grounds.

The Great Monument

The place where Nelson Mandela was arrested and put into prison for the long vicious 27 years of his life is honored by a memorable monument. This monument is structured by the world famous South African artist Marco Cianfanelli. He has been serving the world with his artistic innovative art and sculpture building for public and private realms. This award winner reclaims recently, a monument to honor and tribute to the 50 years of nelson Mandela freedom activism. The monument is placed, on the exactly captured area of nelson Mandela in 1964.

Sculpture Intrinsic Values

This symbolical monument has been inaugurated at the site KwaZulu Natal Midlands. This outstanding artistic monument has consisted upon 50 solid steel columns with the height of 6.5 x 9 meters. The 50 steel bars are lined up vertically into columns to show the clear image of the nelson Mandela’s captivity.
