Some people make their dream homes based on the furniture they have bought. Or based on the land that comes with the property. Or because it has enough rooms for the family and guests to stay. If money was no object, what would you do with your dream home? We are exploring what items make our home a dream home. From layout design, special features, décor, and to landscaping. Sure, it might be a pipe dream but there might be something on the list that you can actually have and you just haven’t thought of yet.
Multi-Levels Create Much Needed Getaways
Multi-level homes always sound amazingly large and overwhelming so some of us will shy away from them. Imagine the ability to use the main floor for entertaining visitors, family meals, a guest room, and a small bathroom so that you don’t have to go up and down the stairs to use the facilities. A small washer and dryer closet nearby so that you can wash all your kitchen washcloths, towels, and bathroom towels without dragging them elsewhere. A heating/cooling system that uses smart technology and allows you to turn on the heat or air conditioning from your phone when you are on your way home from work. The lower level is your entertainment area with a wide screen flat television, popcorn maker for movie night, a fully stocked bar for poker night (that has its own sink and dishwasher area), a table for games with friends, dartboard, air hockey table, and a billiard table. The upper floor with enough rooms to accommodate the inhabitants with bathrooms for each one. A laundry room so that you don’t have to carry bedding or clothing down the stairs. A master bath that features his and her sinks, a small room with a toilet and a bidet, a garden tub, and a gym-style shower. If you struggle with multi-level homes, don’t forget that in our dream home we can install elevators and chair lifts!
Of course, our dream home will have some perfect furniture to match the vision for each room. We will peruse Bernhardt Furniture for the best in leather furniture for the entertaining den that we have in place downstairs. The guest room on the main floor will have simple, yet elegant, bedroom furniture that can play host to any guest we have. Lots of pale yellow and white to help them wake up in a glorious mood. Our living area on the main floor will reflect our personal style with designer pieces that will sure to please your senses. Tall, sturdy, oak bookshelves to fill with your favorite tomes. Exquisite and delicately carved dining room table to enjoy family dinners at and matching china closets so all can see the glamorous china passed through your family. Bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs will match the personal style of each inhabitant and be inviting. The kind of place that a person will look forward to going to for rest. Blackout curtains for each room and minimal tech to induce a sense of peace and relaxation.
The backyard would be an extension of our dream home, thus becoming a dream backyard. Imagine the deck that is large enough to host birthday parties and 4th of July gatherings. An Olympic-sized pool to spend your summer working on your breaststroke or relaxing under the sun. A gazebo situated just off the side where you can enjoy tea in the spring and fall and pink lemonade during the summer. A fire pit for an evening of roasting marshmallows and story-telling. A she-shed or a man-cave for when the ladies and men just need to get away for a few moments of quiet. A garden perfectly placed near the kitchen so that you can grow herbs and vegetables for yummy organic dishes.
Now that we have explored the dream home, did anything stand out to you? Maybe the master bathroom has enticed you into reconsidering what you have now. Or a kitchen that is perfectly designed to fit your cooking style. You might not be able to afford it all, but there is at least one thing you can obtain!
