Web hosting provider and domain registrar, GoDaddy recently announced an all new approach to the way they offer dedicated servers and VPS solutions to their customers.
Powered by the services of the company’s 2013 acquisition Media Temple -a cloud services firm based in LA- the new servers feature greater technical support, simpler set up procedures and real-time updates, all providing a better service for serious web designers and professional developers.
The Hosting News reports that the new service will be launched under the name GoDaddy Pro, and will offer discount hosting rates and special features designed specifically to help “the more tech-savvy” of its customers.
Announcing the new service, Jeff King, the company’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Web Hosting, spoke passionately about their commitment to helping web developers and designers make the most of their hosting services. Referring them them as crucial to GoDaddy’s longevity, he insisted the company were doing all they could to discover and develop new ways to not only help developers themselves, but also their clients.
Mr. King also promised that the new VPS server packages were only the beginning, and that a lot more services, features and tools for web professionals would be released over the coming months.
So, what can we expect from GoDaddy Pro’s new VPS and dedicated server solutions? Here’s a few things promised by the company in their recent statement.
Better, more qualified support
In an effort to improve the level of customer service they provide, GoDaddy announced that before any of their staff members are allowed to assist customers, they must be fully product certified.
For users, this ultimately means we’ll be dealing with support staff who will -or at least should- really know what they’re talking about and, according to a company press release, provide an informed and time-concious service when customers need it the most.
Lower costs across the board
As a result of some serious marketing work and ongoing promotional offers, GoDaddy consistently rank among the top cheap web hosting providers.
With GoDaddy Pro, the Arizona firm are taking this commitment to low cost hosting to the next level, with as much as 85% off their usual plans.
That means users can host WordPress websites for as little as $1 each month, or even get a VPS server for less than $30 per month.
In between those two options, a standard cPanel hosting account will cost only $3.50 on a monthly basis.
The new VPS and Dedicated Server packages are powered by Windows, CentOS and Fedora, offering a more robust and flexible hosting solution.
For those needing a Linux-based platform, options are available there, too. The Hosting News reports that Linux plans start at less than $30 for 1GB of RAM, and increase up to an 8GB option priced at just under $140.
Along with the usual features such as free, one-year domain name registration and email support, GoDaddy Pro solutions also come with a host of useful services to help developers do more for their clients. These include:
- Automated OS patching
- Root access
- Data backup and disaster recovery
- Security and monitoring.
The new packages are available with either cPanel or Plesk control panels.
Flexible management solutions
The new dedicated or VPS servers come in either fully-managed, managed, or self-managed options, which godaddy’s press release says helps users to asses for themselves the kind of service they need before they sign up to it.
